Born in Halifax, Rob was a carpenter by trade who prided himself in his meticulous craftsmanship. He was a quiet man who enjoyed a simple yet meaningful lifestyle. He enjoyed a great party, a lively dance, or just hanging out around the campfire.
He was an avid sports fan. As his children were growing up, he spent his time at the hockey rink with Bobby, and the ball fields and basketball courts with Stephen and Jordan. If there was a Leafs or Jays game on TV, you can bet he didn't miss it. Rob loved four-wheeling. He never turned down a chance to hop on his bike and go for a run with his buddies.
He was a member of the Farmers bowling league for 40 years. Spring and summer months were spent camping with his family and friends at Whispering Winds Campground. In recent years, Rob developed a love for winter vacations on a cruise ship. Many great memories were made cruising around the Caribbean.
Rob will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by his wife, Lynne (Morrison); sons, Bobby, Stephen, and Jordan (Rosalynne Revege); sisters, Pauline Kendall (Les), Loretta Chase (Bill), and Joy Holder; brother, Bruce. Rob also had a strong and loving bond with his in-laws; Marion Morrison, Al (Bev), Greta Fillier (Doug), David, Eric (Catherine), Ethel, Reg (Lynda), Doug (Ann Marie) and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all.
He was pre deceased by his parents, Robert & Veronica Brown (Kiley); brothers-in-law, Charlie and Carman Morrison, and Paul Holder.
Visitation for Robert will be held on Friday April 29, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax. A Funeral will be at 11 am on Saturday April 30, 2016 in St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, 1274 Hammonds Plains Rd. (St. James site) . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Feed Nova Scotia.
