Philip M Flinn

Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, at age 75 of Halifax, passed away peace fully on September 12, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Halifax, NS on December 13, 1938, he was a son of the late R Jeffrey,QC and Agatha (Connors) Flinn.

He is survived by his wife Carol ( Armstrong ), daughter Deanna ( Steve Connors ), sons Tom ( Nicole Deveau ), Craig ( Mary Jo ) and Derrick ( Estée ). Proud Papa to Ashley, Justin, Aaron and Matthew, Jessica, Alex, Amy and Jacob, Noah, Abby, and Ella, and Emily. Also great Papa to Cameron and Jack. Brother Jeffrey, (London, Ontario), sisters Jean Coyle, Monica McDonald and Peggy Dursi,

Predeceased by brothers Donald, Ted, Jim and sister Betty Cleary.

He was a graduate of Saint Mary's University ( B.Comm). Phil was owner of Western Plumbing & Heating Ltd., where he worked for 49 years. He was a well respected business man. He was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.Past president of the Kiwanis Club. In his earlier years he was active in Westphal Port Wallis minor hockey and he loved his time spent at the Camp in Yarmouth (Goulds) with his family. He was an avid outdoors man (hunting and fishing) and loved his NS Duck Tolling Retriever's

In later years he loved his time in Pugwash at their summer home, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and many friends. He was a member of Fox Harb'r and Northumberland Links and he was instrumental in fundraising for Northumberland Links.

Visitation is on Sunday, September 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive .The funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 15, at the Canadian Martyrs Church. Father Owen Connolly officiating.

Private family burial will be at a later time. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Dartmouth General Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
