Born in Parry Sound, Ontario, Peter, known as PJ to his friends, John by his wife, and simply Dad by his children, was the son of John Wesley "Papa" Peachey (deceased) and Edna Gertrude Peachey (nee Harrington, deceased). Peter was the middle child of three children: his older sister Jacqueline Bell (nee Peachey, husband Alvin) and younger sister Jane Foisy (nee Peachey, husband Rolly), reside in Ontario with their husbands. He was "Uncle" Peter to nephew Andy Bell, and nieces Beth Bell and Leanna Hawco (nee Peachey, husband John). As a young man, Peter experienced life in its fullest, traveling the world with the Navy and then as a helicopter engineer. He would eventually settle in Halifax, where he met his wife Paula and his two children were born and raised, but not before gathering a lifetime worth of stories. His career was characterized by his pride and expertise in his work, and his role as jokester and morale builder. His life as a friend was characterized by his loyalty and sense of humour. His life as a husband and father was characterized by his selflessness, his unwavering duty to family, his loving and caring nature, and his remarkable capacity to grow and change for the better. In all aspects of Peter's life, he earned the love and respect of others. Peter loved to laugh and tease, and loved his wife, his son, and his daughter deeply. In his final days, with his family at his bedside, he turned to them and said, "You have no idea how much I love you all." We loved and will always love you, Dad. His life will be celebrated at J.A.
