There's a little black hole on the sun today. We don't see it as a void but as a reminder of the light our mother shone into the world. We will miss that light. Our wonderful mother was born on December 11, 1932 to Charles and Helen Nelson in Saint John, New Brunswick. She was a proud graduate of the Netherwood School, Rothesay. She attended Mount Allison University where she met the love of her life, George. They were married for almost 69 years and had 4 children and a life together that they loved.
Pauline is survived by her husband, George. Her children Sharon, Peter, Pam and Michael. And their spouses Andy, Pat, Ken and Wendy. She is survived by her adored grandchildren, Morgan, Kate, Alison, Becky, Mark, Drew and Jill and spouses.
She is also survived by Austin, Isla, Adam, Sebastian, Sophia, Audrey, Arlo, Amelia and Maeve , her great grandchildren , who were the joy of her final years. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Brian and Paul, Nancy, Ruth and David.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister and best friend, Reta Magnusson and her brother-in-law, Everett Magnusson. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lawrence and Greta Himmelman.
Mom loved the cottage at Petite and time with her family. She was a tireless volunteer for the United Way, CNIB, IODE and the women's auxiliary of the Highland View Regional Hospital in Amherst where she was instrumental in starting the annual highland fling.
A service will be held at a later date.
Mom would appreciate if you put a ray of light into someone else's life by donating to a charity or doing something kind if you choose to.
She was our sun and our moon.
And now she is with the stars.
