Paul attended local schools before graduating from Dalhousie University with a degree in science. As a teen, Paul was diagnosed with Schizophrenia which would significantly impact him the rest of his life yet he never complained and was always grateful for any assistance. Paul did not let this disease diminish his character or strength of will.
The family would like to thank the staff at 4 West Veterans Memorial, the staff of Metro Housing, the community of Eastwood Manor, Dartmouth Outreach staff, the developers of the wonder drug Clozapine which enabled Paul to live independently for the last 20 years, Dr. Gavin Tansley, Dr. Anil Sachdev, and Dr. Greg MacKenzie. A special thank you to René Dubé for saving Paul on a cold winter night many years ago.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Halifax on Wednesday, November 15 at 11 am. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.
Donations can be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Cancer Society, or charity of your choice.
Finally at peace.
