Olive Mary Martin

Martin, (Brown) Olive Mary - age 93 of Herring Cove, passed away peacefully May 21st, 2019 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Veronica Brown. Olive was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend; known in the community for her quiet compassion and selflessness. Survived by her children Barbara Swinimer, Janice Lethbridge (Gus), David Martin (Wendy), Peter Martin (Debbie), Glenn Martin (Lisa), and Angela McNeill (Chris). Much loved “Nanny Olive” of David and Daniel Swinimer, Michelle Martin, Kristin Whitehead (Chad), Jenna and Lee-Ann Martin, Mary Elizabeth and Kathleen McNeill, Megan and Taylor Martin, and Ed, Tracey and Cheryl Lethbridge. Great-grandmother to Danielle, Kameron and Axl. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Frederick Martin; son and daughter-in-law Donald and Janet Martin; son-in-law Rupert Swinimer; siblings Arnold, Allan, Audrey (Reyno) and Wallace. Funeral service to be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 151 Hebridean Drive, Herring Cove, on Monday May 27th, 2019 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
