Born in Halifax, July 27, 1932, she was a daughter of the late J.A.V.(Jack) and Edna M. (Hillis)MacRobert.
Until her marriage to Bud in 1958 she was employed with G.E. Leslie and Co. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a true friend to all who were fortunate to have known her. She loved being a homemaker as well as cooking, sewing, crafts, artistic painting, walking and reading.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Ruth Matheson. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Gerald ”Bud” Locke, daughter Deborah Ruth(Mrs. Roland Geissler), Delmar, Delaware, son Gerald Robert and his wife Dr. Catrine Tudor-Locke, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, two grandchildren Claudia and Paul Geissler, several nieces and nephews.
Nancy enjoyed the many friends she made while living at several condominiums in Halifax and at Cameron Hall where she enjoyed playing bridge and crib.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx. B3S 0E1(902-455-0531), Wednesday, May 20 from 2-4 pm, where a Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 21 at 2 pm in the Chapel, Reverend David Dellapinna officiating. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 3 Dakin Dr.,Birch Cove NS B3M 2C9 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, PO Box 9076, RPO CSC, Hfx, NS B3K 5M7. Remains will rest in St. John’s Columbarium, Halifax, NS.
