 I met Michael on a Contiki  Group Tour  travelling through Europe in July 1989, 35 years ago.  It was my first time travelling with a tour group, and I recall how friendly and down to earth Michael was.   Later that year we exchanged letters, and Michael commented how his parents had also travelled with neighbors of mine in Ottawa. I am sorry to learn of Michael's passing and would like to express my sympathies to the family. May his memory be eternal.

Very saddening to hear this.  I was just talking about Michael and how I started my first year in 1999 teaching at Clayton Park Junior High School.  Michael took me under his wing and showed me the beginnings of utilizing FTP sites in the classroom.  Michael was very passionate with his teaching of Science, Social Studies & Computer Technology and I would proudly say his protege at CPJH.  Max & Michael world always have the students interests at heart at CPJH.   As Michael moved into administration he would always check in with me my first year if there was anything that I needed and come to for advice.   Michael was very compassionate with his students and a Bruins fan which we also had in common.  My heart goes out to Donna & Myles.  Michael you were one of a kind and always have a place in my heart. 

So sorry to hear of his and his parent's passing. Must've went to that store 10,000 times.

My deepest condolences to Donna, Myles and Bonnie.  Michael was the sweetest person and the most gentle soul that I know.  His love of animals was exceptional.  He is at peace now with his loving parents.  He will be greatly missed by those left behind.

I have so many wonderful memories of Mike from when we worked at his parents' store during high school.  His humour kept me in stitches, and his caring and support as a dear friend is something I'll always treasure.  He was indeed one of a kind.  My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

My deepest condolences to the McCormic family and friends. He was the VP at St. Agnes Jr High when my daughter was there. He has a very special place in our hearts, as a kind, thoughtful person and who in my daughter's own words was the best VP she had in all school years (now she is in University). She remembers him for standing up for what is right and fair. Couldn't hope for a better teacher and a better human. You will always will be in our hearts.

As a student who had him as a VP at St. Agnes, this is very sad,  My sincere condolences to the family for their loss, I will always remember him as an amazing, understanding, and caring soul.

Michael was the VP when I taught at St. Agnes. He was kind and encouraging and advocated to get me my first term. He helped me grow as a teacher and was always so supportive. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing and send my condolences to his family.

Mr. McCormick was one of the most amazing teachers I ever had.  In fact, he was one of the main reasons I decided to become a teacher.  He taught me Social Studies at Rockingham Junior High, I'm sure in what would have been early in his career, and his kindness, compassion and sense of humour helped me through three of the most miserable years of my life.  It takes a special human being to be able to lift up most junior high aged children, and Mr. McCorkmick was definitely one.  
Donna, Myles and family please take comfort in the fact that Michael lives on in the hearts of so many who at times were lost and lonely children, I for one have always tried to be for others what he was for me.

Mr. McCormick was an amazing VP at St. Agnes and did so much for me while I was a student there. He was so kind, always encouraged us to do our best and was a great basketball coach for myself and my fellow teammates. And it was easy to see that he would blossom in his chosen profession. His commitment to be the best teacher he could be gave his students a precious gift. I taught with Mike at Rockingham many years ago, but I never forgot him, and his enthusiasm and energy. He was a good friend to talk too during my time there. Full of life and humour.
