Mary Alice Mitchell

Mitchell, Mary Alice (Shields), 89 of Halifax, passed away on April 20, 2015 in the QEII, Halifax. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Laticia (Cooper). She was a resident of Maplestone Manor.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon R.; daughter, Janet (Drake); son, Robert; sisters, Agnes and Ann; brothers, Thomas, Francis, Blaise, John, Paul, Ernest, Michael.

Mary is survived by daughter, Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Marryatt (Paul); Patricia Webster (Michael); son, Philip Mitchell (Debbie); sisters, Charlotte, Margurette; brother, Joseph; grandchildren, Jason Mansfield (Marsha), Steven Mansfield (Margaret), Norman Drake (Sherry), Kelly Webster, Terri Webster (Lyle McNeil), Grant Mitchell along with five great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Parish and past member RCF Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, bingo at Spryfield Legion (#152) and gardening at home and in her summer home in Wine Harbour.

Visitation will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Thursday, April 23 from 6-8 pm with memorial service on Friday, April 24 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
