Mary C. Buckrell

Buckrell, Mary Christina, passed away, all too soon on February 3, 2015 after a brief illness. Mary, 76, was the daughter of the late James and Laura Watson. She is survived by her husband, George; much loved step children; Janice and her daughter Dalyce, Mark (Dan) and Paul. She is also survived by a closely knit family of sister, Ethel (Ernie); brother, Brian (Evelyn), and Don and their children and grandchildren with whom she shared a close and loving relationship. She was predeceased by brothers, Bob and Ken. Mary was born in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, and in her late teens moved to Saskatoon. For many years she served as assistant administrator, library services for the City of Saskatoon and was active in the community on many volunteer projects. She and George were married in May, 1983, and moved from Montreal to Halifax. She has been an active member of the volunteer community, in particular the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, Saint Andrew’s United Church, and the Kids Help Phone. Friendships and flowers were an important part of Mary’s life – her morning walks and time spent in her beautiful gardens at St. Margaret’s Bay. Mary will be sadly and deeply missed by George and family and a wide circle of friends with whom she was known for her kindness, smile, infectious laugh and a deep sense of joy, love, loyalty, and caring. Visitation 5-8 pm Friday February 6,2015 in Cruikshanks Funeral Home ,2666 Windsor St. Halifax, Funeral Service will be held 11am Saturday in St. Andrews United Church, 6036 Coburg Rd. Halifax. Rev.
