Marilyn J. Stevens- age 90 of Halifax, NS, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024. Born November 2, 1934 in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late Greta Zillah (Davison) and Arthur John Moore. She was predeceased by her loving husband Laurie Burnett Stevens and her brother John David Moore.
Her brightest moments were those shared with her surviving children: Wendy (Tom), Thane (former spouse Allyson), Janette (Melvin), Scott (Diane) and Tracey (Andrew). She is also survived by her sister-in-law Helen Moore.
Marilyn stayed in close contact and actively participated in her expanding family’s lives. She was known by most as a proud mother, nanny and great grandmother. Marilyn enjoyed an active life with golfing, daily walks, gardening, playing bridge, quilting and volunteering. She also savoured many adventures abroad as well as enjoying regular winter breaks at her condo in Florida. She hosted many holiday meals to the raves of all in attendance. She prepared full feasts without complaint and if someone brought an extra friend, she always made room at her table, welcoming them as one of her own. Marilyn was a true friend, with a loyal and giving spirit.
The highlight of Marilyn’s days were family dinners, grandchildren’s sporting events, walks, shopping and time spent with her fifteen grandchildren. Samantha (Nick), Erin (Crystal), Mark (Martha), Haley (Brett), Julie (Scott), Mitchell (Samantha), Austin, Michael (Sarah), Adam (Danielle), Maggie (Nik), Jacqueline, Olivia, Lauren, Meredith and Findlay.
She loved them all and made each one feel special to her and embraced every interest. She quickly made room in her heart and arms for her great grandchildren, Ellis, Fletcher, Anna, Marin, Addison, Berkley, Phoebe, Emerie and Lincoln.
