Marilyn was born in Glen Margaret to Lewis and Amy Cook in 1941.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald, on February 25th 2015. She passed on their 59th anniversary.
She is survived by her daughters Sherry (Ottawa) and Michelle (Halifax); son Scott (Jonathan, Montreal); adored grandchildren Tristan and Allison (Ottawa); sister-in-law Betty MacPherson and husband Norman (Ottawa); nephews Steven (Wendy, Bedford), Bert (Johanna, Texas) , Dale (Ottawa); and her brother Dale Cook.
Marilyn built a life full of creativity, crafts, and the social butterfly in her refused no party nor celebratory occasion.
Many were fortunate to know her for her generous spirit, strength, tenacity, and open heartedness.
Marilyn was a force to be reckoned with as three different battles with cancer were to her “merely another journey of lessons to be learned."
She never complained, found a silver lining around all dark clouds, and delighted in the simple things in life.
She played in two dart leagues weekly for decades, rarely missing an evening, enjoyed her girls’ nights, as well as her Pink Panther Club and African Violet Society amongst numerous others.
Her closest friends were deeply quilted into the fabric of her life, as dear as all of we creatures she threaded into her immense flock.
Marilyn could always be depended upon no matter the issue. She devoutly adored her own family and her chosen one, her very lucky brood of fur babies over the years, and her kind and dear neighbours.
Cherished amongst the many adored were Jen and Ed, parents of two beautiful sons, Brett and Nicholas. They call her Nanny Mosher and she wore the name proudly.
Due to COVID restrictions no service will be held at this time. A suitable memorial will be announced at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Cruikshanks’s Funeral Home in Halifax.
Donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to the Heart and Lung Association, The Canadian Cancer Society, the SPCA, or any charity of choice.
