After a brief career as a teacher in Ontario, Marnie attended Dalhousie University, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology (first class honours). In the opinion of the psychiatric community of the time, “She was the best clinical psychologist in the city”. After a rewarding professional career spanning over 10 years, she retired to devote her energies to her family and she enjoyed a long and active association with St. Augustine Anglican Church. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Hugh; her son, Mark (Jane), Halifax; grandchild, Jonathan, Halifax; sister, Eleanor, Dunnville, Ontario; brother, David (Sonya), St. Catherines, Ontario, Lucifur and Amanda of Halifax. She was predeceased by her daughter Nicki and her sister Monica.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
