Mrs. Margaret P. David Gordon, 101 years old, transitioned into eternity on March 16, 2023. Born in Upper Hammonds Plains, Margaret was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ella Jane David.
Mom lived in North end Halifax most of her life.
On November 20, 1944 mom married Mr. Arthur Hamilton Gordon and they had a family of 9. She is survived by her children Anthony (Lisa) of Montreal, Linda (Nelson), Wanda (Frankie) of Halifax, Sheldon (Sonja) of NB, and Gail of Toronto. In Nov. 2017 at 96 years of age mom helped to unveil a statue located at the Halifax waterfront, commemorating women volunteers in World War II. It is the first full size Halifax monument honouring women. Mom lived a full life, she loved her Lord, and she enjoyed travel. Mom travelled across Canada, Texas, New York, Washington, Germany, England, Paris, Holland, France and Los Angeles.
Mom will be missed by all her children, 16 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, nieces, and friends.
We extend a special thank you from our family to the Northwood staff and volunteers, with a special shout out to the 7th and 11th floors of the Northwood Manor.
