It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Jean Brown, age 74, of Bedford , Nova Scotia. Margaret went home to Heaven on Tuesday, August 25th,2020 and is now resting in the arms of her Saviour Jesus.
Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia she was the daughter of William and Philena (Mills) Reynolds.
Margaret was a teacher and over the years taught at many different schools including the School for the Deaf in Amherst and Halifax Christian Academy.
She was very artistic and loved to paint. Starting out in oils she then moved to watercolours and acrylics and was always interested in trying new techniques. She was a founding member of the Bedford Basin Artists Society and held various roles with that organization over the years, including workshop coordinator, secretary, treasurer and president. During the 1990s she was involved in the West End Gallery where local artists were able to showcase and sell their work.
She was a member of Sheffield Baptist Church and her church family was very important to her. Over the years she was involved in many different areas of service at the church. She was currently involved with the Ladies Bible Study. During the pandemic she was missing being able to be with “her ladies” on Tuesday mornings and was looking forward to being able to resume meetings this fall.
She is survived by her loving husband Bill; her daughter Rhonda (Jacob) Maier; sisters in law Olive Reynolds, Anna Gallie, Barb (Larry) LeCouter, Cindy Brown; brothers in law Sonny Brown, Francis Brown; many nephews and nieces and special friends.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her brothers Murray, William, Loyal and Jimmy and her sister Leota.
Arrangements have been made under the care of JA Snow Funeral Home on Lacewood Drive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday August 30 at 2pm at Sheffield Baptist Church, 80 Lincoln Cross Drive, Halifax.
Visitation will be held immediately before the service between 12 noon and 2 pm.
Covid-19 restriction apply masks, hand washing and social distancing.
Donations may be made to Sheffield Baptist Church or the Diabetes Association of Canada.
