Conrad (Gray), Madeline Judy, was a loyal wife, mum, sister and Grandma. She left us on April 1st, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Earle and Lillian (Mailman) Gray and is survived by her husband Paul, daughters; Carolyn Conrad of Halifax, and Sarah (Blair) Sissons of Fredericton and sisters; Barbara (Malcolm) and Donna, her grandson, Earle Conrad, and granddaughters; Tessa and Kate Sissons, and her nieces and nephews many of whom called her Auntie M.
Madeline graduated with Honour’s from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1988. She studied History and Women’s Studies. She was awarded the Sister Francis D ’Assisi award, an award given to the student considered to be the most outstanding in their class. She valued academics and instilled the importance of education to her family.
As a historian, she researched and built an extensive family tree. Following politics, playing bridge, and endless reading were some of her simplest pleasures. She loved her regular visits by her grandson, following the Raptors, and watching him play basketball. She enjoyed her travels with Paul to Fredericton for family meals cooked by her son in law, watching her grandkids swim, and taking a dip of her own once in a while. Her absolute favorite thing to do was spoil her grandkids.
To honor Madeline’s wishes, there will be no service. A private reflection was held with the family.
