Mabel O’Shea, 91 of Halifax passed away peacefully at the QEII after a long illness. Born in Indian Harbour; 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph Stackhouse and Nettie Richardson. Survived by her children Henry O’Shea Jr., Pat Morrissey, Colleen (Brian) Abrahams, Cathy (Ken) Macksey and Cheryl (Kim) Dobson. Grandchildren Christopher (Shannon) O’Shea, Allyson (Jason Brennan) O’Shea, Karen (Peter) Jowsey, Stephen (Lisette) Morrissey, Brent Morrissey, Mike Abrahams, Sean (Melanie) Abrahams, Joanne (Roland Sturgeon) Macksey, Suzanne (Jim) Voteary, Richard Macksey, Joseph Dobson and Emily Dobson. Great grandchildren Meaghen Jowsey, Kristen Wybenga, Scott Jowsey, Hannah and Nathan Abrahams, Owen Voteary, Arielle Sturgeon, Shea Brennan and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Henry, son-in-law Clay Morrissey and daughter-in-law Alice Faye (Burns) O’Shea, brother Roy Stackhouse and sister Laura Stackhouse, sister in law Margaret (O’Shea) Lawlor, brother in law, Christopher O’Shea, and brother in law Jim O’Shea. Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street Halifax, B3K5C9 (423-7295) on Monday, March 4, 2013 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 5 at 11:00am held in St. Stephen’s Church within the Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish, officiated by Father Gerald David. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nova Scotia Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society of Canada.
