Mabel Carter

January 3, 1920 – January 11, 2014

Mabel Carter, 94, wife of the late Charlie Carter, died at Northwood Manor in Halifax on Saturday, January 11, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Norman Meadus and Lillian (Crocker) Meadus of Greenspond, Newfoundland. She was predeceased by her son Donald Carter (Dianne Dunphy), her sister Marjorie, and her brothers Clarence, Raymond, and Douglas Meadus.

She leaves to mourn: her brother Cecil Meadus (Carbonear, NL); her daughter Shirley (Charles-André Nadeau); her grandchildren, Kimberly Nadeau (Gaston Côté), and Charles Nadeau, Christopher Carter (Kendal Furlong), and Marc Carter (Sarah Bugden); and her great-grandchildren Camille, Xavier and Bénédicte Nadeau, Owen and Rex Carter, her nephew David White (Betty) many other nieces, nephews and dear friends. Appreciation is extended to her loving and dedicated personal caretakers, Jan Deveaux and Marie Whitman, and the staff of Northwood Manor.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 17, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, January 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 1:00 p.m., at Fairview United Church, 3524 Dutch Village Road, Halifax.
