She was born in Valleyfield, Quebec on August 19, 1953, to the late Louis and Catherine (McLaughlin) Giovannetti.
Lynn received a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Education from St. Mary’s University. She worked as a high school teacher in Saint John, and for 15 years in the Treasury Department of Maritime Tel and Tel in Halifax. She then returned to full-time and substitute teaching in the public and private school systems for the next six years. Lynn’s first priority was always her family. She was deeply supportive of her children’s education and extra curricular interests, and always quick to volunteer when an opportunity appeared.
Lynn is survived by her husband Alex (Sandy) of 44 years, sons Michael (Renee) MacKenzie and Colin MacKenzie, brothers Brian (Dianne) Giovannetti, Dana (Pamela) Giovannetti, Mark Giovannetti, and Gray Giovannetti, and sister Geralyn (Michael) McCawley. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Clara, Alexander, and Catherine MacKenzie, nieces Sarah Giovannetti and Erin McCawley, and nephews Jason, Kyle, Grant, and Chase Giovannetti and Sean McCawley.
A celebration of Lynn’s life will be announced shortly.
