LEBLANC, Lisa Margaret, 47, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2014 at the QEII Health Sciences Center. Born in Yarmouth, NS, she was a daughter of Bruce LeBlanc (Edzo, NWT) and Patricia LeBlanc (Halifax).
Lisa graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with her BSc Hons in Physics and obtained her Masters from the University of Waterloo. Throughout her career she worked at the University of Western Ontario, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, McGill University and Dalhousie University. Most recently she was the Network Manager for the Canadian Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Change. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, biking and cross-country skiing. She was an avid Expos, Roughriders, and Senators fan and loved to travel. But most of all Lisa loved her family and friends. She was kind, generous and never forgot a birthday. Lisa had friends from all corners of the world and will be truly missed.
Survived by sister, Heather (Tim) Crowell, Halifax; brother, James (Nadine), Hay River, NWT and two half-brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Tuesday, April 1, from 6-8 pm. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, at 10:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank everyone at the QEII Palliative Care Unit who took care of Lisa in her last days.
