I am heartbroken to hear of Ken's passing. My daughter and he were like peas and carrots, they dated for a couple of years before her untimely death. Jennie quirk. I sure know they are reunited again having a laugh. I loved Kenny. Ken was the funniest man I knew. Rest easy my son, we loved you so much. 

To Ken's Fanily:  Words seem inadequate to express the sadness Garry and I feel at the loss of a super guy, Ken. Our hearts go out to the entire family in this time of sorrow.  Cherish the memories!

Kenny and I had been working together over the past year conducting inspections at underground and surface mines. He encouraged me to go the extra mile to build relationships with employers and to always meet in person, even if it meant driving all across hell's half acre! He was great at his job because he understood that safety is all about people and Kenny was a very compassionate and caring man. He will be greatly missed  by myself and everyone at the Safety Branch. Cheers to Kenny!

OMG, I was so impressed by the video  !! All the pics of Kenny and family over the last # of years and in particular his dad Bobby. Kenny & I were good friends for many years and he worked for me as well. It's been several years now since we were in touch, but he was a good friend & great guy !  I am so saddened by his passing, Rest in Peace my buddy !

Working with Kenny from the administrative side always brought laughs. Kenny was always straight forward with his thoughts.  Loved making people laugh and always was more than happy to talk about my menagerie of animals.  He loved that I love animals as much as he did.  Loved and miss our chats on animal advice and thoughts.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Kenny during his time at the Dept of Labour. Over the last couple of years we shared office time in Truro. Always quick to say hello and ask how things were. He had great empathy for his fellow workers as shown by his leadership for the critical incident response team. I know he was  well liked and respected by those he connected with during his work. I worked with Kenny in the OHS Division and want to send my condolences to his family and friends. I was lucky enough to have worked with Kenny several times and will remember his smile and laughter. As many will remember Kenny was the life of any meeting or group.

I have come  to know Kenny well over the last 10 years or so, My boss Rick Carroll and Kenny are very  good friends. Over the years Kenny spent a lot of time visiting and helping out at Civic Pride, along with doing some driving for us. 
Kenny would always come over and check in with me so how things were going, tell me stories about his younger days, snowmobile trips , and his work. 
He was very inspirational, and always gave me life advice, things that I will never forget, helped me see the world in a different way. 
I speak for my self and the rest of Civic Pride, We will greatly miss you Kenny, thanks for all the stories and advice over the years.

The first time I met Kenny 
I remember it very well 
He was just a big jolly guy
With lots of stories to tell 

He was just so full of life
And liked to have fun 
He had many expressions 
And nicknames for everyone 

He welcomed me to the group
With an embrace I’ll never forget 
He picked me off the ground 
Oh yes I still remember it yet 

He made a huge impact 
On our little group 
He never left anyone out
Kept everyone in the loop 

He had a sense of humour 
That was far much bigger than life
He was the centre of attention 
Along with being so very nice 

He had nicknames he created 
Only some I can recall 
He decided I should be called Benson
He was always on the ball

Roddy took it all in stride 
Larry was mr Sew LLLL…
He accepted well with pride.

Such a shock when you lose someone so suddenly. I met Kenny through my brother Dave, and I'm grateful to have had that opportunity. I know how much Kenny meant to Dave and his friends, so losing him is gonna leave a big hole in their lives. Anytime I was around him, he was the entertainment and just seemed to make everyone happy.  It's not always easy to be 'that' person, but it was natural for him. Rest in peace Kenny. 

Kenny, AKA "Big Man" moved to Fort Ellis and blessed us by becoming  great friend and part of our family very quickly. He was always a favorite at community gatherings because of his crazy stories and humor. On Saturday mornings he would join Short Round (Dave), thetall one (Eddie), turtle (Merv)and Hammer (Will) for breakfast to start off the day of adventures. Saturdays usually ended at someone's garage listening to the classics while laughing over stories. 
Kenny loved to tease people to show he cared which included Cecil (Bryson), Koola Kaystee (Kayla), Sarge (Geraldine), Kid (Evan) and the smart ones(Linda and Pam).
Kenny shared our love of animals and allowed Millie to become part of our family and Sophie's BFFF( Best Fury Friend Forever)  Kenny always had Millie with him whether he was going to the park for a walk, going for a drive or visiting friends. 
He truly was a great man

The news of Kenny's passing was a shock . My deepest condolences to Kenny's family.  I had the pleasure to snowmobile in New Brunswick and Maine with Kenny for the last few years.  I remember the meet and greet just like it was yesterday.    Right away, I felt like I knew Kenny for years.  Once he discovered I had dispatch history with a trucking company - my nick name was 'dispatch' .  Each morning of the snowmobile weekend started out with ' where to today, dispatch?! ' I had the honor to have two nick names, the other was lil buddy. He was such a joy to be in the same room and on the snowmobile trail . You knew when you stopped for a break- there was going to be a story. Kenny, the rides  will never be the same without you ! You will be so so missed but not forgotten.  Rest in Peace, my friend.

Our Traffic Team worked alongside of Kenny back in the early 2000’ s and he taught us more about the NS Motor Vehicle Act than our Police trainers did over 20 + years.

Kenny and the excellent members of NS Safety Services were so professional and willing to help us with some of the most serious crashes in our jurisdiction.

I am shocked and saddened by Kenny’s passing – I had the opportunity to speak with him briefly just a couple of weeks ago…he looked good, and he indicated he was feeling good and mentioned getting out for regular walks with his dogs. Little did I know it would be the last time I would see him.

The trucking industry has had great representation from provincial commercial vehicle enforcement throughout the Atlantic region, and Kenny was amongst the finest. He took his role seriously and raised the bar in the industry, but he always had such a passion for trucking, and it showed in his generous participation in the various trucking industry related groups and events. He will be sorely missed, but I will remember him for his great smile, happy demeanor, and the humour he brought to all who knew him.

To Kenny's family...know that he was loved and respected by the commercial trucking community. We all grieve with you.

So sorry to read of Kennys passing, worked with Kenny and his dad  Bobby when they were at Hillmans. Great people, pleasure to work with, many fond memories. RIP Kenny.

I am very sorry to hear of Kenny's passing. As one of his colleagues in the Truro office, I would always know when Kenny was in the office, as opposed to being in the field for work. There would be a pleasant humming of a tune, sometimes even a song being sung. Not only did Kenny have a nice singing voice, but he added a lightness and cheer to the office environment. He was interested in his colleagues, and cared about each of us. One of my daughters happened to stop in one day, and the short interaction she had with Kenny, prompted her to remind me how lucky I was to have such friendly people working beside me. Kenny made a positive difference. I will miss him. 

On behalf of the Eassons Transportation Group we would like to pass along our condolences  to Kenny's family, friends and acquaintances. Kenny was an amazing person and advocate for the trucking industry. He  understood the importance of stakeholder engagement and helped move the needle of progress forward. I was so saddened to learn that Kenny had passed away.  We worked together in the central office in Burnside and Kenny was always such a pleasure to chat with, pleasant, happy, full of life, kind  and so helpful.   He talked a lot about his pets and loved them so much.   He was a great officer and so happy that I had the pleasure of working with him.

Kenny was the bright spot to every moment. I can say I never laughed so much and truly enjoyed his crazy personality. I learned very quickly that you must never give Kenny your phone to take pictures…or you wind up with these….
