Dunsworth, Kenneth Edward, -- age 81 passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018, at the Halifax Infirmary with family by his side. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late James Dunsworth and Marie (O’Neil) Dunsworth. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Iceton), Halifax and his sons, Jim (Shawna) of Timberlea and Barry (Leanne) of Shubenacadie, NS and his sister Helen Taylor. Also mourning his passing are five grandchildren Alix, Jordan, Jennifer, Adam and Chloe. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother- in-law Gordon Taylor. Ken was an avid athlete at an early age. His favorite being basketball, and he cherished memories with his lifelong friend, Brian Ross, of playing with friends and teammates from St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Pat’s High School and Saint Mary’s University. Everyone, especially Ken, knew off by heart the St. Thomas cheer: “ Are we in it, well I guess, St. Thomas, St. Thomas yes…yes…yes”! He later played softball and was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Red Wings and his beloved Toronto Blue Jays. His playing years were replaced by watching his grandchildren play the sports he loved so much. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm with reception to follow at J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
