Kathryn Anne Hamilton

Age 79, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on May 23rd, 2024, at home.

Born in Kingston, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Harriet (Mouzar) Charrette.

She retired from the provincial government after 27 years of service.

She was an active volunteer in many organizations including, Cancer Canada and the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Kay was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips and outings with her circle of lady friends.

A cherished aunt and baker for her family, she could be found spending many hours whipping up holiday treats or baking elaborate birthday cakes. Kay doted on her extended family and will be forever missed.

She was preceded by her husband David Hamilton - the love of her life.

She is survived by her partner Jamie Power; sister-in-law, Linda Mason (Hamilton); nieces, Johanna and Kristine; nephew Marty; four great-nieces; and eight great-great nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and neighbors.

Cremation has taken place. As per Kay’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A family burial will take place at a later date.

In-lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
