Katharine Naomi Allard

Beloved Kate passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 8, 2023, aged 53. Born in Portsmouth, England to Jeffrey and Barbara, and sister to Vicky, Kate was married to Claude with whom they have two wonderful daughters, Thea and Genevieve.

Kate's sense of adventure had her travelling the world, and she lived in London, Gibraltar and Australia before choosing Bedford, Nova Scotia to raise their family. Kate obtained a Masters Degree in Economics (with Distinction), and was an award-winning Economist at the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Generous, fun, determined to live life to the full, and with many wonderful friends, Kate was passionate about great food and gardening, was a talented pianist, and loved the outdoors - from hiking the mountains of Tasmania, to walking the lovely coastal paths around Bedford.

Kate is deeply missed by her family and friends, however her spirit is always with us. She inspires us to create a life of joy and adventure; to treasure family and friends; and share a big smile as beautiful as Kate's - every day.
