Joseph (Joe) Augustine Baglole, born December 17, 1921 passed away in the Queen Elizabeth II hospital, Halifax, August 27, 2015. He was the son of the late James Alfred Baglole and Florence Martin of Albertan, PEI. He was predeceased by his first wife Theresa (Neary) Baglole and his second wife Maude (Jollota) Baglole, sister-in-law Edith (Neary) Pace and husband Raymond, son William Baglole, son-in-law Charles ‘Bob’ Patton, grand-daughter Mary Patton, step-daughter-in-law Judy (Langley) Jolotta and step-son-in-law Noble Hubley. Survived by son James Baglole and wife Mary (McGuigan), daughters Marianne (Pace) Foster and husband David, Judith Patton, Cathy Lewin and husband James and Theresa Kemp and husband Robert, daughter-in-law Nancy (Flemming), stepson Carmen Jollota and step-daughter Sylvia (Jollota) Hubley; 12 grand-children, 18 great grand-children and numerous loving nephews and nieces. Joseph worked for the Canadian National Railway for 37 years and after retirement was employed for several years as a school crossing guard in the Halifax South end where he took great delight in his daily communications with the young children in his care. He will always be remembered by family and friends as a man of great dignity, with a finely tuned sense of humour who enjoyed the simplest of joys each day brought him, especially his interaction with people. He loved to cook and more than that took great delight in eating both his own handi-work and that of others. Joseph ardently followed the sports activities of his children and grand-children, was a strong supporter of the Toronto Blue jays, win or lose, and a great lover of outdoors activities especially fishing. Joseph was a devote Catholic who volunteered his support to many of the parish activities and belonged to Council 1097 of the Knights of Columbus. Funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Church, North Street, Halifax, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10:30AM. Internment is to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family have requested donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Heart and Stroke foundation.
