August 25, 1952-March 20, 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear brother Jackie who fought a hard, courageous battle with cancer for the second time!
Jackie worked most of his life. From the tobacco fields to BIO visiting various ports of the world, then with various Trucking companies, the most recent long-term years with Fast Freight, until retiring from Can Med. He was a well-respected Co-Worker and well liked by his customers over the years. Jackie grew up playing ball hockey with many of the neighborhood kids in his community of MGP. He continued to play for many years in different ball hockey leagues but he was super proud to be part of the Mulgrave Park Flyers. He was one of the longest playing ball-hockey players being nick named “the Vet”/ “Roadrunner”, and he has many trophies and medals to show for it. He took a cooking course at NSCC and loved to cook delicious meals and share them with his neighbor Vince. He was also a life-time fan of the Montreal Canadians (HABS).
Jackie was a huge fan of Madonna and lived his dream of seeing her in person thanks to the family and friends for making that dream a reality. He loved his cat companion Buddy, who stayed by his side to the end. Jackie had a huge heart and wore it on his sleeve. He would never hurt a soul.
Jackie is survived by his two Sisters; Marlene (Kevin), Debbie (Logan), and Brother Paddy (Joan). Two step children Johnny and Andrea. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jackie was pre deceased by his Father Morris Supple, his Mother Audrey (nee McNamara), Brothers Mike, Ralph and Maurice.
A special thank you goes out to his neighbor Vince who checked on him daily and his Mac cousins for their generosity. On behalf of Jackie and us, a huge heartfelt thank you goes out to our family friends Joyce and Tony Matthews for donating the “Madonna” Urn that was specially handcrafted by Joey and Carla MacLeod. And to Dorothy for providing flowers. Also, a special thank you to Palliative Care Nurses and Doctors and the VON for the home visits.
You are finally at peace Jackie and in heaven with Mom, Dad, your Brothers and all other family and friends before you! Rest easy Brother. You will be sorely missed but always in our hearts. We will see you on the other side.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. A service will be held in Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, NS on Thursday March 27, 2025 at 10am. Burial will take place at a later date.
