Joan Sharp, 90, Halifax, on July 22 at the Infirmary Site of the QEII Health Centre. Joan is survived by her daughter, Wendy Sharp (Toronto); son, Brian Sharp; daughter-in-law, Nadine Smillie; grandchildren Stuart and Madeline Smillie-Sharp; and brother, Cliff Perry (Toronto). Born to Ned and Millie Perry in Ontario, she moved to Nova Scotia in 1952. Joan dedicated her life to her family, and shared her love of beauty with all through her gardens, her art , and the music that filled her home. She supported her community through volunteering at her church, community hospitals, and her grandchildren’s schools. She was a strong, gracious, and vibrant woman who always kept a positive attitude and a smile on her face even through the health troubles she faced in her later years. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Les; her parents; and her brothers, Bill and Frank. She will be fondly remembered by all and deeply missed. Her family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Parkland Estates and Unit 7.3 of the QEII Infirmary for their sincere and compassionate care of Joan. Arrangements entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. The family invites her friends to attend a celebration of Joan’s life at 7:00 p.m. July 28 in the Garden Pavilion, Parkland Estates, 116 Fairfax Drive Halifax. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Autism Centre; Symphony Nova Scotia; or a charity of choice.
