Dunphy, Jessie age 80 of Halifax, NS passed peacefully away on May 12, 2018 at the QE II Halifax Infirmary. Born in Mushaboom, NS she was the daughter of the late Earl and Jessie (Fredericks) Boutilier and wife of the late Alex Dunphy.
Jessie started life in Mushaboom where she enjoyed living her childhood and made many special memories with family and friends. She later moved to Halifax where she met and married her husband Alex and had seven children, and many grand and great grand children. Whom she loved unconditionally.
Jessie's number one priority in life was her family. She cared so much for family, friends, neighbors and strangers. Jessie would never see anyone go without food or shelter. She would welcome people in her home give them a warm place to stay and a good meal, even if it meant leaving herself hungry. This lady had a heart of gold. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her just loved her.
Jessie worked at many jobs from retail, cleaning, cook, childcare, senior home, etc.. she made many friends wherever she worked. Enjoying life to the fullest she loved having house parties, going out to clubs and Taverns where she enjoyed music and loved to dance. A good joke always made her day.
This Angel "Jessie" Mom, Grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will live on forever in our hearts.
Jessie is survived by her daughters, Arlene and Colleen (Harry); sons, Alex (Karen), Paul (Cheryl), Jerry (Jackie) and Davey (Janice); grandchildren, Angie (Graham), Wayne (Gail), Dwayne, Scott, Michael, Jeremy, Brittany (Chad), Brandon, Jordan, Kelsie; great-grandchildren, Amber, Landon, Noah and Charlotte; sisters, Vi, Alice and Linda; brother, Dougie; brother-in-law, Pat; special friend, Louis Walsh as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Alex; son, Norman; sister, Joan; brothers, Guy and Bob; brother- in-law, Raymond; sister-in-law, Gladys; son-in-law, Dave; great-great grandson baby, Jedd; her son, Norman; and her special brother-in-law, Raymond.
Special Thank you to all staff at the QEII who took amazing care of Jessie. An Extra special thank you to Jessie s care givers, Donna and Jessica.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17 from 6-9pm at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street where service will also be held on Friday, May 18 at 1pm followed by a reception. Burial will take place at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local Homeless Shelters or Food Banks.
