JEFFREY GALEN TRAFFORD, age 58 of Lower Sackville, passed away July 28, 2018 at the QEII Hospital, on the fifth anniversary of his father’s passing. Born in Shelburne, he was the son of Tom and Brenda Trafford (Hughson).
Jeff spent his entire career as a well-known and respected professional with a passion for the food service industry. His zest for life allowed him to be a recognized “foodie” not afraid to post his opinions! He was a man who continually put his family first and loved them with fervor matched by none.
He made time for his mom, Brenda, each and every day and Murray Corner was his happy place, where he enjoyed time spent with his girls, Cathy, Chrissy and Shelby, and playtime on the beach with his grandchildren, Avery and Ethan.
Motorcycling trips with Cathy and his extended Harley family was a constant adventure, while his unwavering dedication and bantering for the love of his teams, the Boston Bruins and Miami Dolphins, was an inspiration to the ongoing sparring of words with his friends. He had a quick-witted sense of humour that easily had people laughing and enjoying his company.
Every year found him looking forward to his annual “trip with the boys” and all the planning that went into it. Jeff is survived by the love of his life and 29 years of togetherness, Cathy (Reilly); two daughters, Chrissy Trafford (Chris Hawkes) and Shelby Trafford; mother, Brenda; two sisters, Terri (David) and Tamra (Jim); two grandchildren, Ethan and Avery and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his father, Thomas Trafford.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, August 11 from 1 - 4 pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax, with Remarks at 2:30 pm and a Commemorative Revving of the Engines at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bikersdown.com, the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation or a charity of choice.
