SULLIVAN, (Hobin) Jean M. – 75, Halifax, passed away September 17, 2012. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Edna (Verge) Hobin. Jean grew up in Halifax and was the head girl at St. Patrick’s High in 1955. She was a dedicated figure skater, winning many local championships. In the early 1970s she owned/operated the Starlettes Figure Skating Club in Spryfield. Jean loved to entertain family and friends and could pull the greatest affairs together with style and grace. Her other hobbies included sewing, gardening, bird watching, and Christmas crafts. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Sullivan (Brian Gray); brother, Brian Hobin (Marcia); and grandsons, Justin and Nathan. She was predeceased by her husband J. Stuart Sullivan. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 21, in St. Michael’s Church in Spryfield. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Herring Cove. Memorial donations may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada, Maritime Region.
