Judi & David,
What a wonderful, cheerful woman your mom was. Having lived beside Jean for almost 40 years we missed her when she moved. Almost every day Jean could be seen walking and chatting with neighbours. Many a gab session we had over the fence, as neighbours do, and before you knew it a hour had passed. She loved talking about any subject.
Jean’s active lifestyle was impressive for her age.  She liked to entertain her neighbours but was usually so busy it would take 2 weeks before she had time to have anyone in. I would jokingly ask her to check her appointment book and squeeze me in 😉.
It was obvious Jean enjoyed life to the fullest every day! She loved to laugh!
She will be missed.

Dear Judi,
So sorry to hear about Jean’s passing. What a full life she lived. A dear friend of my mother, Dorothy Read.  Oh the times they had!  Mom told me in the last days of her life that she considered Jean to be her best friend. They shared lots of tears and laughter.  Jean was always dressed to ‘the nines’, high heels included. She was a joy to be around.

So very sorry to hear of Jeans passing. She was truly an inspiration to me in the years I had the pleasure of weekend visits with her. Lovely walks in the gardens and fabulous stories. I have and will miss Jean tremendously. Although my visits unfortunately had to end due to covid I will always be grateful for having known this wonderful person. My deepest sympathies to both Judy and Dave.

We are so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. Jean very kindly befriended my Mom (Verda Kempton) when she arrived at Parkland at the Gardens and they became close friends for the duration of their stays there. Jean was always smiling and happy. People gathered around her and she was the definite leader of her group. Mom and Jean were reunited again on the third floor and she was again a huge help to my Mom there.
Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

I was notified of Jean's death by my mother, Patricia Richardson (nee Brinton), who somehow learned of it while vacationing in Barbados. l always enjoyed my times spent with Jean.They where fun filled .She certainly was a  positive light.

My name is Dorothy Grant and my husband with me came to live in the same residence  with your wonderful mother about four years ago when she lived in her own apartment!
Obviously I soon discovered she was an amazing woman who never
allowed getting older to affect her.(She was an outstanding role model for  us who often lament the process!)  What I found so kind  about her was that  when, as a former CBC reporter, she always enjoyed the presentations I was then offering twice a month here. And, she always told me how much she liked them
But best of all, I realized she was a truly extraordinary woman  and having the privilege of meeting her was, indeed  a great honour!!!!

Hi Judy and Dave,
Our parents were such great friends! Springfield Lake for a Saturday night (or any night) card game, swim or barbecue, parties to admire the peonies, and trips to Maine were but a few of the things they did together. Jean was amazing-she never seemed to age when I knew her. Amazing but not surprising she lived to this grand old age: she knew how to do it!
