Ida Grandy

Grandy, Ida Elizabeth(Hallett), age 75 of Halifax passed away December 13, 2014 in Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home. Born in Winterton NL, she was a daughter of the late Baden and Elizabeth(Rowe)Hallett.

She received her RN from the Grace Maternity Hospital and graduated from Dalhousie University. She worked many years at the Grace Maternity Hospital. She loved babies. She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army where she was a faithful member of the Home League. She enjoyed quilting and baking.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edwin, children Karen(Alan MacAulay), Robert and Jennifer(Redmond Curtis), sisters Jean(Gerald)Kirby and Heather(Lorne)Green, grandchildren Noah, David, Becca, Ryan and Jack and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother Frank and sister Donna Harnum.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 7-9pm in JA Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx NS B3S 0E1(902-455-0531)where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2pm, Captain Rands officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Parkinson’s Society. Special thanks to the caring staff at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home, 5th floor.
