Temple-Hill, Hilda Ellen(nee Cooper), 94 passed away peacefully on March 8, 2013 in the QEII. Born on Feb. 24, 1919 in London England, she was the eldest daughter of Stan and Alice Cooper. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Rev. L. Temple-Hill. She is survived by her daughters Carol Ann, Halifax and Gayle (Wayne MacKay), Fredericton, grandsons Andrew (Brittany Cameron), Quispamsis, and Michael (Sarah Johnson), Fredericton; sister Joan, brother Bert (Eunice), nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She and her parents immigrated to Canada and resided in Kenora, Ontario. At an early age, she spoke both English and German. Hilda completed Commercial High in Montreal and worked for CPR-Angus Shops as a keyboard operator. On May 24, 1945, she married the late Lionel Temple-Hill and they celebrated 53 years of marriage. They ministered to the Anglican parishes in and around Montreal, Quebec. Hilda was involved in all church activities- ACW-WA, Chancel Guild, and Ladies Guild. She was badge secretary for the Girl Guides in Montreal. Upon retirement, Hilda and Lionel moved to Halifax and became involved at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. She was President of ACW and a member of Chancel Guild. Hilda was treasurer to Mission to Seafarers. Hilda and Lionel enjoyed exploring the quaint towns and seaside places in Nova Scotia. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, and knitting with many of her knitted hats and mitts going to those in need. She was well known for her chocolate brownies and butter tarts. Hilda was involved in The Shoe Box Christmas gift program. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take will be in J.A. Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx NS B3S 0E1 on Thursday, March 21 from 2-4 pm. Memorial service will be in St. Paul’s Church(Grand Parade) Friday, March 22, 2013 2pm Dr. Rev. P. Freisen officiating. Burial in all Saints Columbarium. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care QEII, Heart and Stroke Foundation.
