It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Heather Lorraine Wills of Halifax, Nova Scotia on Thursday May 6, 2021, in her 83rd year. She is survived by her devoted partner and husband of sixty-one years, David Wills, her loving daughters Moira (William) and Catherine Wills and her beloved grandson Theodore Ramharack. Heather is also survived by her brother Hardy McDonald and her cherished nieces and nephews: Star, Bruce, Erin and Ian. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Vickery.
Heather was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a deeply charming personality and was a vivacious beauty. She trained and worked as an X-Ray technician at the Victoria General Hospital prior to having her family. She engaged in community work through the IODE and was an active member of the United Church Women’s Group for her entire adult life. She cooked and served countless meals at street missions.
She was a caring spirit and consummate caregiver, personally tending to her own mother, sister and husband as they aged. Her willingness to help where needed and ability to weather all challenges that came her way are a testament to her resilience. She will be truly missed by all of us.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Ernest B. Johnson, Reverend Trent Cleveland-Thompson and her dear friend Kathy Evans. We are so grateful for the time, support and friendship you have given the whole family over many years.
Due to the Covid pandemic, a celebration of Heather’s life will be held when it is safe to gather together. In the meantime, please leave your memories, tributes or condolences on line at Cruikshank’s funeral home at: www.cruikshankhalifaxfuneralhome.com
