Heather Rosanna Hackett
28 May 1941- 5 April 2025
It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that our beloved mom passed away on April 5 ,2025. Heather Hackett age 83 peacefully went home to be with the lord. Heather is the daughter of the late Cora and Russell Williams.
Predeceased by sister Doramae Clayton , brothers Atlee Williams and Dean Brooks, daughter Dawn Coles, best friend Aunt Rose Adams, first husband Billy Coles and late husband Teddy Hackett
Survived by sisters , Charlotte Croxen of Alberta , Jocelyn Williams Taylor(Harold) of Ontario and Coralee Leslie (Alan) of Ontario. Daughters Ruthanne (Paul) and Lela (Roger)of Ontario, Carnita (Franklin) of Halifax and son Larry (Kathy) of Lower Sackville.
Heather was blessed with eight grandchildren , Josha ,Shane, Iesha, Leah, Alex, Nigel, Lyndell and Cortez . Ten great grandchildren. Several cousins ,nieces and nephews. Two Godchildren Tammi Dixon and Glynnis Desmond.
Heather will be deeply missed by many friends and family and by close friend Carlotta Weymouth of whom they shared seventy five years of friendship. In the 1960’s Heather along with other community members was instrumental to help establish Brunswick Street Cornwallis Preschool .She worked for many years in the Dietary Department at the V.G. Hospital. Heather worked at Sobeys and Clearwater Seafoods as a Food Demonstrator where she would greet and meet members of the community .Heather enjoyed playing bingo, skipbo, bid whiz, spades and bowling. She loved a variety of music and hosting family gatherings. She loved to entertain and always wanted to feed you. To Heather, Family is everything. She taught her children to love one another and to have compassion for your fellow man. Heather spoke her mind and a lot of people admired her for that. Mom was the heart and soul of the family. Many memories full of love laughter and happiness were shared not only by family but friends as well on Glebe Street.
The family would like to thank everyone for all their support and love during this difficult time.
A celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday April 15th at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home 2666 Windsor Street Halifax Nova Scotia
Visitations 12 noon to 1 pm . Service to follow at 1 pm
Repast at 4 pm at the Army and Navy Air Force Club 2409 Maynard Street Halifax
