Harold Kemp, 82, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2017, after a sudden illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; stepson, Michael Haley; daughter, Marlene (Guy Pesant); son, Douglas and precious grandson, Eden Carter. Survived by sisters, Betty Vock-Cowell and Shirley (Laverne Zimmer); sisters-in-law, Phyllis Kemp, Vera Kemp, Anne Kemp, Catherine Hill and Cecelia Johnson; brothers-in-law, William Cornish and Leo Brooks ( Cathy) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Pridham (Ormand), Margaret Cornish, Faye Sager (Ernie); brothers, Dalton, Gordon (Jean), Earl and George; brothers-in-law, Carl Vock, Cecil Cowell, Wayne Hill, Erwin Johnson. He was the son of the late Clifford and Leone Kemp of Ontario. He was an avid golfer for over 40 years playing at Pin-Hi and Hartlen Point. In his lifetime he had three hole-in-ones. He was very involved in Halifax Minor Hockey Association and Chebucto Minor Baseball for a number of years. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 20 years, was an entrepreneur and worked for Canada Post for 12 years. He was a lifetime member of Retired CPO Association and 48 year member of the Legion. Visitation will be at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. on Wednesday, November 15th from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral will be on Thursday, November 16th at 10 am at Stairs Memorial United Church, 44 Hester Street, Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, Diabetes Association, Alzheimer's Society or a charity of your choice.
