Graham was born May 28, 1985 and grew up in Fleming Heights, attending J.L. Ilsley High School and graduating from Saint Mary’s University. He furthered his studies and worked as a pedorthist, enjoying many years with Soles in Motion. Although home was his favourite place to be, Graham loved visiting great friends in Ontario, travelling to find the best golf course, and spending time with his family at Davidson Lake.
Graham was an avid sports enthusiast and spent countless hours throughout his life on the ice, the ballfield, and the golf course. He took on many roles – player, employee, and perhaps his favourite, coaching his own children. He also enjoyed watching many sports with family and friends and looked forward to yearly golf trips with his dad and brothers, where bragging rights and dinner were always on the line!
In 2006, Graham met the love of his life, Courtney, and together they built a life and family that would prove to be Graham’s greatest joy and accomplishment. There are no words to describe what kind of father Graham was. He was often referenced as a ‘blueprint’ of what a father should be. Their home is filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be imprinted on Abby, Emily and Rory for the rest of their lives.
Graham will be forever missed by his wife Courtney and their beautiful children, Abigail (9), Emily (7) and Rory (4) as well as his loving parents; Doug and Joanne Gilbert, siblings; Ben Gilbert (Serri Naugle), Pat Gilbert (Ashley) and Beth Pelham (Mark), grandparents; Henry Gilbert, Albert and Theresa Driscoll and Joan Costello, parents in law; George Schaller and Judy and Glenn Costello, brother in law; Ryan Schaller (Meg), sisters in law; Shallon Costello (Ryan Marriott) and Athea Costello (Dave Wilband), nieces and nephews; Porter Gilbert, Vada Naugle, Hattie, Casey and Edie Pelham, Grady Gilbert, Cian and Kate Schaller, and Brielle Marriott as well as many other family and friends. Graham was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Mary Gilbert.
Graham’s family would like to issue a heartfelt thank you to family, friends, and the community for all of their love and support during this difficult time. There will be a celebration of life on Friday February 21, 2025 from 2:00-5:00pm at Ashburn Golf Club (3250 Joseph Howe Drive).
