Shane was the son of the late Gordon and Elizabeth (Mackay) Barrett. He is survived by his brother Stephen (Denise) Barrett, his loving niece Brooke Barrett, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Shane's biggest accomplishment was being an extremely proud member of the I.L.A. Local 1341. As an executive member, he earned the respect and admiration of his peers and performed his job with tremendous honor and pride.
In his spare time, Shane enjoyed watching and cheering his favorite sports team, the Montreal Canadiens. GO HABS GO! He loved the outdoors and nature and you could often find Shane feeding the birds on his backyard patio. Throughout his life, he made several friends and touched so many lives with his laughter and charming wit. On many occasions, he would enjoy a cold glass of White Russian and call friends and family to reminisce or to just chat. We will all miss those great conversations.
Special thanks to cousin Tammy Holland, for always being there for Shane and making sure he was okay; best friend Timmy Heidebrecht, with whom he shared many fond memories and who was like a brother; Rebecca White, for being like a daughter to Shane; and uncles Shawn Barrett, Shaun Collins, and cousin Cameron Barrett, who guided us through this difficult time.
