Gordon Graham Murray

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Gordon Murray on April 3, 2022. He died of complications of Lewy Body Dementia.

Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Keir and Ruth Murray. He was a graduate of Queen Elizabeth High School in 1964 and later went on to work at the Halifax Herald Ltd. for many years. He was affectionately referred to as “Scoop” during his days as a reporter, until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Fox Hollow Golf Club. He enjoyed travelling to Florida during his retirement and going to his cottage on the Noel Shore.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Judith (Kent) Murray, Sons Kent (Heather), Trevor (Shawna), Grandchildren Jesse and Racquel. Brother Allan (Joan) Murray, Halifax. Sister Janet (Doug) Arrand, Ontario. He was predeceased by his brother William Murray, sister Kathryn Latimer, and sister Mary Moffatt .

Please join Gordon’s family for a visitation to celebrate his life on Monday April 11, 2022 from 2-4pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Masks are strongly encouraged.
