Born October 27, 1947, died December 29, 2019. Glenn was the son of Edward James Brunt and Phyllis Elizabeth (Smith) Brunt.
Glenn grew up in Rockingham, Halifax County, and lived in the Halifax area until 2013 after which he retired to West LaHave.
He was a Graduate of Dalhousie University with a Diploma in engineering. He went to work for F. C. O’Neil, Scriven & Assoc. Limited straight out of university, becoming an owner/partner until retirement. He was active in many engineering associations with a special fondness for The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.
Perhaps his greatest passions were being on his boat ‘Fog Hollow’, sailing Mahone Bay and coastal Nova Scotia. In recent years he loved tending his garden in West LaHave, sharing his harvest with neighbours and baking and sharing his much coveted home made bread.
Past member of the the Waegwoltic Club, the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, LaHave River Yacht Club and the Nova Scotia Nonsuch Group.
Survived by his wife Deborah (Wilson) Brunt, four son’s Matthew (Angela), Jeffrey, Michael (Sondra), Alexander. Mother Phyllis Brunt, two brothers Laurie (Karen), Keith. Grandsons Aiden, Blake and Sam Predeceased by his father Edward.
Our family wish to express our utmost gratitude to Dr. Michelle Barrington and Dr. Hugh Fraser for their caring support during Glenn’s illness as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of South Shore Regional Hospital and the EHS Special Patient Program. We applaud you all.
Although Glenn has sailed on to new adventures, fair winds will continue to caress us with his love and spirit.
Funeral service will be held on Friday January 3, 2020 at 2:00pm in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax with reception to follow.
