This is a heartbreaking news for me. Gladness was a doula for my daughter's birth 9 years ago. She helped me more than her said task was, because I didn't have any help around in halifax since I was new. She made sure I was OK. We lost touch later on, but she was always in my heart. It was her kindness and her pure soul which i cannot forget. Gladness,  I can't believe you are gone, I am forever grateful for all your help   😔

It's with a heavy heart that we write this short message.  In fact, it has been difficult to write. 
It is sad and difficult to believe but we trust the Almighty God knows best.

Gladness was quite but very caring.  I remember how she carried all my children- Denise,  Joel and Daisy. I know they may not remember you much, its been a while.

We pray  for the comfort of  the Holy Spirit for the family.

Her life, cut short, was clearly dedicated to service, both as a nurse and as a gunner. Myself and my children,  Samantha, Rebecca and William were neighbours of the beautiful Kasheke family when living in Clayton Park many years ago. We have wonderful memories of our friendships and   church attendance with them.
Gladness, being the oldest, always kept a protective eye to Mercy, Hope and Gracious. I recall one evening as she rounded them up at the end of the day she explained, “when darkness comes, trouble begins”. We often quote that, to this day, in our home and think of the wise teen sister she was.
I’ve learned that she went on to have a fulfilling career and know made her family, her country and her God proud. I would have loved to have met up with her one more time to reminisce. 
Sending love to you Sabina and Abella. I cannot imagine your anguish as parents. And sending the biggest of hugs to Mercy, Hope and Gracious - our time together was more precious than we realized.

Gladness and I met while working at SHYM.  We loved to scare each other at work by hiding and jumping out when the other wasn’t expecting it. We had a lot of good laughs doing this. We stayed in touch after we both moved on from SHYM and she would always send me hilarious videos online. I remember thinking how nice it was that we stayed in touch the past 7 years. She spoke encouraging and sweet words to me before I gave birth in February and I’ll never forget that. It helped me when I was scared. I will miss her dearly.

A wonderful young woman who has left us too soon.  May Gods love, comfort and peace be upon all of her family and friends as she rests peacefully in the presence of her Heavenly Father.

Gladness was my best friend coming out of basic training. Even though our careers were very different, we still took the time to call each other on weekends to give life updates. To laugh, commiserate, complain, congratulate each other and more. My fellow sister in arms, you will be missed. 

I knew Gladness when we were neighbours in Clayton Park. I remember her as a lovely, happy young girl who lived her life as a devoted Christian, dedicated student and a much loved older sister to her younger sister and brothers. She was a great friend to all who knew her and I particularly remember her on the occasions when we went to the library together. Gladness had a big joyous laugh and I am so grateful for the times I got to spend with her. She had focus and determination to be successful in all the many paths she chose for her life. I met Gladness in 2018 when she volunteered for a week at our Youth Camp. For several years after that, she returned as our camp nurse and helped at other events as well. Thankfully our relationship grew beyond those events, and Gladness became a good friend. 

From my first conversation with her, she talked about joining the military - she had that aspiration for our entire friendship. I can still remember when she told me she had gotten the call for basic training - I did enough screaming and jumping for the both of us - she was super chill, of course. 

I only have good memories of her - laughing, supporting, sushi dates, shopping trips, long phone calls sharing stories (and a scattered frustration, haha) and the ongoing stream of funny memes and videos :)  Mylanta (as she would say), I will miss her so much. 

My condolences to the entire Kesheke family - I pray that you sense God's peace, hope and strength as you walk through this season.  I hope that knowing Gladness is with her Savior brings you comfort and peace.

Gladness came into my life 7 years ago, she is such a wonderful person, loyal, kind, faithful and such a fun person to be with. She was always on board for a coffee, campfire, hike, bike ride or her favorite, a trip to the range. Over all of the degermation in her military training, her work as a nurse, or the other aspects of her life that come to mind, she was devoted to the faith, committed to Christ and loved to navigate theological discussions and asked many wonderful and deep questions. Gladness was  one of my church members, our camp nurse, a close friend, but most of all she is my dear sister in Christ, and she will be missed, but we take joy in that we will see her again.

Gladness was one of the most gentle souls l ever met. Quietness and peace distinguished her from the crowd. Her humour, deep intellectual conversations, mercy and generosity will be missed. She was a significant contributor to this world.

A bosom friend and sister she'll always be remembered in our household.

My heart is broken. Gladness, you were such a devoted friend and your beautiful smile and spirit always filled every room you entered. I wish I could have spent more time with you but I am honored to have known you for the time I did. Ill always remember the moment you met my little baby Theo on Christmas morning and how you looked holding him.    I know you are now at peace in the arms of Jesus and I take comfort in that. You will be so incredibly missed.

We remember when Abella, Sabina and Gladness first arrived in NS, attending our church when she was a little tot. She had a great smile!!

We met again recently some 30 years later with her brothers and sister. Still had that infectious smile.

We mourn her loss with you, praying that God’s peace that passes all understanding will envelop you through this time.

Shocked and so very saddened to hear this news. I worked with Gladness. She was an excellent nurse and a very strong and valued colleague. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
