Born in Halifax, NS. He was the son of the late William Ephraim and Mary Ann.
He was a faithful member of the Salvation Army Fairview Citadel and loved singing especially when the band was playing. He was a long serving employee of Dominion Store Ltd. and in retirement became a crossing guard for many years. He was an avid fan of many Halifax minor sports teams which he supported on a regular basis.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean (Hallett); daughter, Debra Mitchell; sons, Frank, Donald (Susan), and Christopher (Amanda); sisters, Ruby (Sandy) McBain and June Marshall; sister-in-law, Heather (Lorne) Green. He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren, Lauren and Brendan (who were like his grandchildren) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, Friday, August 18, 2017, from 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Salvation Army Fairview Citadel, 50 Gesner St., Halifax, Saturday, August 19, 2017 @ 11 AM. Captain Jamie Locke officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army Fairview Citadel Band or COPD NS.
