Son of the late Emmanual and Matina Xidos (Kakamousias), he is survived by his wife Connie (MacNeil) loving children Jordan and Sheila (Matthew), his fur babies Serena, Venus and Tuggle, and other close family and friends.
When at the peak of his health, he could be found pursuing his passions; from spending time with his family, travelling the globe with his wife (especially if Disney was involved), refereeing soccer, to one of his greatest passions...curling (which included representing Nova Scotia in the Tim Hortons Brier in 1991). George was heavily involved in the Credit Union system, having worked with them for 30 years. There was no one that ever crossed George's path that he didn't turn into a friend. He could sit and chat about almost anything and at the end of the conversation he would often have gained your story without you even realizing how much you shared. He truly brought out the best in everyone he met and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held at Cruikshank's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax on Monday, December 9th from 12 to 2 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. George's Greek Orthodox church in Halifax.
