Baird, Frank Wilber 1932-2023

We regret to announce the death of Frank Wilber Baird on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. He passed away suddenly at his home in Bedford. Born in Amherst, Frank was a long-time resident of Halifax, and was employed with the Government of Nova Scotia for 15 years before his retirement in 1987. He married his beloved Muriel (Nolet) in 1963 and they were together for 55 years before her death in 2019. Frank enjoyed sports, travelling and the family life. He had a strong faith and was a great supporter of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Brunswick Street in Halifax.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Irene Baird of Amherst, and brother, Wallace Roderick and is survived by a nephew, Lloyd Baird in Airdrie, Alberta with whom he maintained regular contact over the years. Frank was loved and is also survived by his nieces, Vivian, Kathy and Karen Briand, and nephew, Kevin, in Houston; great-niece, Teaghan all of Antigonish. His close friends Gail and Frank Norris of Bedford were a great support to him through the years. His family and friends will all miss him.

A gathering will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home on May 18th at 1:30pm prior to interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
