MacFARLANE, Frances “Frankie”, RN, BN – 77, of Halifax, passed away surrounded by her loving family August 20th, 2010, in the Palliative Care Unit of the VG site, QEII, in Halifax. Daughter of the late Laura (Drysdale) and Roy Flynn (of Wallace), Frankie was a proud graduate of the 1953 nursing class of the Children’s Hospital. Frankie spent her entire 42 year career as a much loved and respected nurse at the Children’s Hospital and the IWK, and graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Dalhousie University in 1985. Frankie is survived by her sons, Michael (Ann) Crosby, John (Rhonda) Crosby, and Wayne (Rita) Crosby, all of Halifax, and Steven (Louise) Crosby of Edmonton, Alta., and their father, Maurice Crosby, of Bridgewater, and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bruce MacFarlane and stepchildren, Sarah (Sean) Gaultois, of Brooklyn, and Neil (Holly) MacFarlane, of Halifax, and their two children. Frankie also leaves behind sisters, Norma (Al) MacKinnon, Moncton, N.B.; Patsy (Charles) Smith, Saskatchewan and Sheila Brander, Wallace, and brother, Michael Flynn, of Montreal, Que. She is predeceased by her beloved sister Carol (John) Clifford, Fredericton, NB. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 23rd at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. A memorial service will also be held at J.A. Snow, Tuesday August 24th at 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
