Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Betty (Freeman) Crosbie.
Liz graduated from the VG Nursing School in 1961. She spent the next 50 years working in the nursing profession, touching the lives of so many people. Liz loved being a nurse, most notably with Dr’s. Morton and MacNeil, and finishing her working career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the IWK. Liz was forever loving and caring to all her patients and had many lasting friendships with those families. Her kind and generous spirit will never be forgotten.
Liz is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Allen Iyoupe) Blockhouse; son, Tom (Karen) Hammonds Plains; sister, Helen (Ron) Cameron, Mader’s Cove; many nieces and nephews. Nan will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Leanne, Haley, Thomas, Jacob, Tori and Alexis, whom she loved to spoil. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, George. Cremation has taken place.
There will be a celebration of her life gathering at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, Friday, June 29, 2018, from 2-4 pm.
Donations in Liz’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Liz’s family would like to sincerely thank Lynn Key and her staff at Heart to Heart Manor, Chester Basin, for their exceptional care, not only for Liz, but for the entire family. The love that was shown to Liz will be forever remembered with sincere gratitude and gratefulness.
