With heavy hearts we say good bye to Elizabeth Cronin who passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 30th, 2018. Born in Massachusetts, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Bob and Mayrita Cronin. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 29 years, Mark Chinner; her son Robert Chinner; and her daughter Kristine Chinner. Elizabeth lived for her children, was a fierce friend, and entirely devoted to her family. She leaves behind her brothers Gerald, Barry, and Robert together with her sisters Kristine and Bebe. She held her many nieces and nephews dear to her heart and followed their accomplishments with joy and pride. Elizabeth studied at Case Western Reserve University and later taught at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School near Atlanta. As a mother and married to a military officer, she exemplified the strength behind the uniform. She took the moves and separations in stride, making the most of any situation. Articulate, intuitive, and conspicuously intelligent, she was a remarkable supporter to friends and an unparalleled companion through life. In accordance with Elizabeth’s wishes, a cremation has taken place with interment to follow at a later date. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 12th in the Our Lady of the Assumption Chapel (Shearwater) on Bonaventure St. in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A reception will follow at the Shearwater Aviation Museum located next to the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth preferred that donations be made to the local “Hope for Wildlife” initiative.
