WRIGHT, Eileen Mildred (Clayton) - 1936-2011. A precious and loving member of the Lord’s flock, Eileen Mildred Wright, 75, Beechville, passed away peacefully in the early hours on Monday, March 21, 2011 surrounded by her treasured loved ones. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Violet (Clayton) and Ronald Ergas. Eileen was predeceased by her lifelong love of 49 years, Deacon Cecil Wright and will be sadly missed by their sons, Cecil, Halifax; Ronald, Holliston, Mass.; brother in law, Gordon (Betty), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Danielle (Blake), Beechville; Dennis, Beechville; George, Holliston, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Treleigh, Trianda, Antonio, Blace and baby Treleigh, Beechville; foster children, Tiesha and LeVar; honourary grandchildren, DeeAnne, Devan, Jasmine, Nadine, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by sisters in law, Edna Desmond, Halifax and Helen (Deacon Les) Dorrington, Beechville, as well as brother in law, Percy. Mrs. Wright was extremely well-known and respected throughout the community and was involved with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Beechville Baptist Church since her return home in 1984. Eileen really enjoyed her family and made a lifelong pledge to help illuminate the lives of all those she came into contact with. Blessed with a quick wit and a sharp tongue, she was infamous for asking the question “Who are your parents?” She enjoyed watching her soaps and especially her game shows. She was one of the few individuals who could always find something positive about a person. She refused to accept that individuals are inherently bad, instead choosing to find something positive in their character which she would comment on. Eileen enjoyed visiting with friends and fellow community members. She and her husband had been Foster Parents with the Department of Community Services for many years since making their return home after having moved to Boston, Mass., in 1961 and settling in Holliston, Mass in 1963. Eileen was initially employed with Parker Products in Holliston but she gained permanent employment with Sealtest Ice Cream in Natick, Mass, in 1964, and faithfully remained there for 19 years, rising at 4:00AM each day for work. She and her husband invested their life savings to build their home in Beechville and opened their doors wide to family and friends. She loved Massachusetts, but Nova Scotia, and her beloved relatives were never far from her heart, evidenced by the yearly vacations the family took in Nova Scotia. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family and was a noted whist player. She will be sadly missed but "Nan" will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Visitation will be at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive on Thursday, March 24 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Ladies Auxillary Service at 7 p.m. Funeral will be held in Beechville Baptist Church on Friday, March 25 at 2 p.m., Pastor Lloyd Grant officiating. Interment will be in Beechville Cemetery. Repast to follow in the lower Church hall. Donations will be accepted in the name of Beechville Baptist Church Sunday School and BYF.
