Edward "Noel" Kelly

Born in St. John’s NL on Dec 25 1944. He was the son of Mary Jo (Flynn) and Geoffrey Kelly.

Noel graduated from RCMP Academy, Depot Division in May 1966. He was stationed in North Sydney and Sydney NS. He then joined the Dept. of Agriculture, Race Track Supervision and retired in 1996. After retirement he worked for Abacus Security and then joined the Corp of Commissionaires where he worked security at Halifax International Airport for 15 years. Noel was a friend of Bill W. for 36 years.

While his children were young he was a dedicated Cub and Scout leader in Rockingham as well as a baseball coach. Noel loved to fish, although you would never catch him eating one. His favourite spots were Dino’s Pond and Middle River in Cape Breton.

Noel is survived by his wife Helen (Butts) Kelly, his daughter Alana, sons Shawn (Christy) and Blaise (Nancy), sister Judy - Ontario, his brothers Robert (Fran) - Australia, Geoffrey (Gail) - Grand Falls NL, six grandchildren Quinn, Jake, Emerson, Fletcher, Oliver and Lachlan as well as many nieces and nephews.

Noel was predeceased by his mother and father, mother and father-in-law Veronica (Campbell) and William Butts, his sister Edwina, sister-in-law Beth, brothers Terry and John and brother-in-law Gregory Butts.

Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held on Tuesday December 6, 2022 from 4-7pm at JA Snow Funeral Home at 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax

The family wishes to thank the staff of Northwood especially the staff on 3 Manor.
