Edith Irene Sprague

SPRAGUE, Edith Irene, age 91, of Mount Uniacke, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the New Halifax Infirmary Hospital. Born June 3, 1926 at Kildare Capes, P.E.I., the daughter of Amanda (Rayner) and William Getson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ivan Sprague; her brothers, Erskine, Silas and Lloyd; and sister, Blanche.

She is survived by her children, Judy Swaine (Clarence), Earl (late Hazel Harrington), Lloyd (Cindy Warnell), Deborah McMillan (Frank); grandchildren, Stephanie, Shawn, Scott, Jason, Claire, Krista, Shannon, Amanda, Grant and Rhonda; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Kaciewicz of Winnipeg, MB and Marion Buote of Tignish, P.E.I.

Edith was an avid quilter, bingo player and loved going home to P.E.I. every summer to spend time with family there. She loved the farm life and was an avid watcher of wrestling. She will be missed by her special furry friend “Nicky”. She was the family caregiver.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place in P.E.I. at a later date.
